The last evidence that the practice green was at this location for the last 105 years.

The remnants of the chipping green during the bulk earth moving stage. The practice green was in this location for the last 105 years. This work will allow a larger chipping fairway with multiple angles of attack.

The soil from the old practice green is being moved to create the pad for the new green.

Short Game Area construction to start soon!

As part of the Golf Course Improvement Master Plan, the Short Game Area (SGA) construction is slated to begin on Monday, June 24th. This date is earlier than the originally stated July 22nd start date to allow the SGA to be open sooner for member use during the busy months of September and October. Please remember that during the construction and grow-in phase of the SGA, the practice tee will remain open throughout.

Some preliminary preparatory work on the SGA will begin prior to the June 24th start date. This will include spraying the proposed SGA with a non-selective herbicide to remove existing ground cover and also removing the existing irrigation system in the area to hasten the earth moving sequence.

The construction phase of this project will take 4 weeks with a brief hiatus during the Men's Member Guest tournament week while the grow-in phase will be an additional 3 weeks, so the projected re-opening of the SGA will be approximately mid-August.

This work will greatly improve our present SGA and will allow for more efficient and enjoyable time at the practice facility.

Jerry Stockmal took this video of the pair of eagles. They were down in our practice tee enjoying the morning sun and a snack. Their nest is about 250 yards away in a pine tree.
